  Mrs Brown's Boys will be returning for six episodes in 2023, creator Brendan O’Carroll has revealed. He said the BBC originally wanted a four-part mini-series this year as part of the celebrations for the Corporation’s centenary. But he said he had trouble booking studio space, which was suddenly in demand when Covid restrictions were lifted. So he is now planning to make them next year, along with   two more Christmas specials for 2023, too. A brawl reportedly broke out at Mrs Brown’s Boys’ D’Tour live show at Glasgow’s Hydro arena at the weekend. Fans of Dublin comedian Brendan O’Carroll’s hit spin-off from the successful BBC One sitcom complained of a “10 minute punch-up” soon after the start of Saturday’s performance. The performance had to be temporarily halted while security quickly moved in to restore calm, allowing the gig to continue.   One wrote on the MBB Facebook page afterwards: “Dont know what was funnier the actual performance or the fact the show stopped whilst the fight was happening in the crowd. Another said they “thought it was part of the show”. “Great show, except from the 'extras' that had to be heard in the audience,” wrote another. But the security were fantastic and took her outside untill she calmed down and got back in lol.”

        HELSTON had a surprise visitor on Friday evening, in the form of a popular TV character – but all was not what it seemed. Agnes Brown, from Mrs Brown's Boys, appeared to be at The Coinage Hall, Wetherspoons and again in The Beehive Bar in the town.  With her famous brown perm and glasses, she looked like the real deal. However, on closer inspection it turned out to not be the 'real' Mrs Brown (aka actor Brendan O'Carroll) but in fact Steve Crowhurst, who was in fact a lookalike.  It wasn't the first time Steve had taken to the pubs of Helston to raise money for charities, still as Mrs Brown, but this was the first time to raise money for an Alzheimer's charity. Steve's wife Alison said: "The people of Helston, have been so supportive," adding that the trio managed to raise £200 for the charity.  Alison and Steve are planning on more charity fundraising events in Helston over the next few months....
