Mrs Brown's Boys star shares 'unfortunate' reasons for mini-series cancellation

  MRS BROWN'S BOYS star Fiona O'Carroll, who plays Maria Brown in the BBC sitcom, has opened up on why plans to release a mini-series this year have been scrapped.   Speculation had been mounting about new episodes of Mrs Brown's Boys airing on BBC One this year as filming was scheduled to take place in April. However, actress Fiona O'Carroll has admitted plans to release a mini-series in 2022 have been discarded which means fans will have to wait until next year for the project to take shape.  Fiona has cited "various" reasons for the decision and admitted it was difficult to book studio time during the coronavirus pandemic and get the cast together.  The 41-year-old actress said: “Well, you know what this industry is like.  "There is lots of talk and lots of talk and until it is happening you will never really know.”   She continued: "We were supposed to be doing a mini-series this year but, unfortunately, due to various different reasons

  The successful hit show is heading on tour over the summer and fans are raring to see it - but unfortunately there has been a major change that are a shame for many A big change to the new Mrs Brown's Boys show is set to disappoint fans. The show is headed on tour from next week where it will play venues such as Dublin's 3 Arena, Belfast's SSE Arena and the London Apollo. The hugely successful show will run across June and July, before a final few shows in Dublin in November. However, fans have said it's a "shame" as a new rule is coming into place ahead of the tour. Taking to social media, the Mrs Brown's Boys account wrote: "Any fans that have been to our shows know how much we enjoy the after show signings. But unfortunately on this tour, for the sake of the safety of our audience and the cast, We will miss it but look forward to better times. Enjoy the show but please stay safe and healthy."   Mrs Brown's Boys star Brendan O’Carroll has ­revealed that Scots actor Gary Hollywood was “family” and we “miss him”. The 66-year-old from Dublin, who writes the show and plays potty-mouthed matriarch Agnes Brown in the award-winning BBC1 sitcom, still seems shellshocked by the ­Glaswegian’s exit from the cast after working with him for 20 years. Brendan, who is bringing Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Live Show to Glasgow and Edinburgh next month, said: “He was a great actor and we miss him. “He used to call me ‘Father’. He was part of the family and we haven’t spoken since and haven’t heard a word from him since.”   Ex-High Road star Gary was doing panto in 2000 when he met Brendan and joined the Mrs Brown cast. The Scot was in the Irish DVD versions of the sitcom in 2004 and when it was taken up by the BBC in 2011. 'Brawl' at Mrs Brown's Boys tour show at Glasgow arena as some fans 'thought it was part of the show'

A brawl reportedly broke out at Mrs Brown’s Boys’ D’Tour live show at Glasgow’s Hydro arena at the weekend. Fans of Dublin comedian Brendan O’Carroll’s hit spin-off from the successful BBC One sitcom complained of a “10 minute punch-up” soon after the start of Saturday’s performance. The performance had to be temporarily halted while security quickly moved in to restore calm, allowing the gig to continue.   One wrote on the MBB Facebook page afterwards: “Dont know what was funnier the actual performance or the fact the show stopped whilst the fight was happening in the crowd. Another said they “thought it was part of the show”. “Great show, except from the 'extras' that had to be heard in the audience,” wrote another. Another said: “Someone was fighting lol and then one behind me was very loud and drunk. Ended up crying. But the security were fantastic and took her outside untill she calmed down and got back in lol.”
