The Mrs Brown's Boys actor decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle over the course of the pandemic and has kept his social media followers updated along the way. When Danny started his weight loss journey last May, he weighed just over 14 stone and through a healthy diet and consistent fitness regime was down to 12 stone by December.         HELSTON had a surprise visitor on Friday evening, in the form of a popular TV character – but all was not what it seemed. Agnes Brown, from Mrs Brown's Boys, appeared to be at The Coinage Hall, Wetherspoons and again in The Beehive Bar in the town.  With her famous brown perm and glasses, she looked like the real deal. However, on closer inspection it turned out to not be the 'real' Mrs Brown (aka actor Brendan O'Carroll) but in fact Steve Crowhurst, who was in fact a lookalike.  It wasn't the first time Steve had taken to the pubs of Helston to raise money for charities, still as Mrs Brown, but this was the first time to raise money for an Alzheimer's charity. Steve's wife Alison said: "The people of Helston, have been so supportive," adding that the trio managed to raise £200 for the charity.  Alison and Steve are planning on more charity fundraising events in Helston over the next few months....

  FORMER Mrs Brown’s Boys star Rory Cowan has revealed how ‘Grandad’ once hit the roof — after finding him in bed with a man. Future TV stars Rory and Dermot ‘Bugsy’ O’Neill shared a room while touring with stand-up Brendan O’Carroll in the early-90s. And Rory, 60, tells in new memoir Mrs Cowan’s Boy how he picked up a fella at a bar in Sligo — but was rumbled by Bugsy the next morning. Rory said: “He took one look at my friend and let a roar. ‘Get him out! If he’s still here when I come out of the shower, he’s going through the window.’ “I knew that Bugsy was only joking but I still hustled my friend out of the room. ‘You won’t believe it,’ Bugsy told everyone later ‘He was in bed with another fella’.” But Rory was left alone in the early hours after sneaking into the room.   On Tuesday David Walliams presented the National Television Awards with his usual flinty self-interest masquerading as a comic routine. He played it for laughs, although few were forthcoming throughout the 150-minute transmission. Why? For a start, it is becoming painfully obvious that there is nothing fake about his preening narcissism, nor his reluctance to share a stage with another comic who might — God forbid — be funnier or more popular. Walliams's me-me-me act is not comedy any more, but some weird form of psychotherapy; a cry for help, if you like. Even though we are the ones who should be begging for mercy. Yet television executives adore Walliams, pelting him with all the plum jobs, over and over again. Once upon a time it was the ubiquitous Stephen Fry who was so honoured. Now it is Paul O'Grady, Fiona Bruce, Phillip Schofield, Lauren Laverne and Walliams, Walliams, Walliams. Between them, they seem to present everything on television and radio. The only exception ...

  Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner is such a fan of Mrs Brown’s Boys that she managed to land a guest appearance on the show. Glasgow-born actor Gary Hollywood, who plays hairdresser Dino Doyle in the show, said: “Who knew Caitlyn Jenner was desperate to be part of Mrs Brown’s family when she has such a famous one of her own. “Nobody knew she was such a fan until Caitlyn met some of the cast at the National Television Awards when the show won best comedy. “She told Brendan O’Carroll and his wife Jenny she loved the show. Of course she was invited on to All Round To Mrs Brown’s, which we were busy filming. “Caitlyn was supposed to be flying to LA, but postponed her trip so she could be a guest. She flew into Glasgow where we film the show, and she had a ball.” The show will be televised later this year but Caitlyn couldn’t wait to share a picture with her millions of Instagram followers of herself sitting at Mrs Brown’s kitchen table. The comedian, 64, his goodbyes to Fiona, who has been dubbed his "second mammy", in Canada last month. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Brendan's other sister Eilish said: “I had been out there with her for Christmas but we didn’t manage to get out until the day after she died. “He (Brendan) was there to see her and got her talking and laughing and singing and I knew she was hanging on for him. “They were very close, she was like a second mammy. Very much so. For her I know it was her wish to see him and she did and that was lovely."
